Clarity comparison

A clearer view of the details.

Upload a low-resolution photo or try the real model example.

AI infers texture and cannot guarantee true detail recovery. Inspect severe blur, faces and small text at full size.

Real-ESRGAN · Local super-resolution

Image Enhancer · What this tool does

Enhance low-resolution and compressed images locally with Real-ESRGAN super-resolution. Choose original-size, 2× or 4× output, adjust strength, compare with a slider and inspect at 100% before exporting WebP. Automatic mode prefers local WebGPU and falls back to CPU. Images are never uploaded for processing.

How to use it

  1. Upload PNG, JPG or WebP, or load the low-resolution example.
  2. Choose output size, strength and device, then enhance.
  3. Compare and inspect at 100%, then download WebP.

Practical tips

  • Input: 25 MB, 4 megapixels, 4096px per side. Output: 16 megapixels, 8192px per side. Unsupported scales are disabled.
  • First use loads about 27 MB. Context-padded tiles bound GPU memory. CPU and larger images take longer; you can cancel.
  • Original-size and 2× outputs are reduced from the model’s 4× result. Alpha is retained. Inferred detail is not verified original detail.

Frequently asked questions

Can it restore severe defocus or tiny text?

Super-resolution is better suited to low resolution and compression damage. Information lost to severe defocus may be unrecoverable. AI can alter faces, text and patterns; inspect them at 100%.

Do I need a GPU?

WebGPU uses your own GPU in supported browsers. Automatic mode falls back to CPU if unavailable or execution fails. Computation stays in the browser; Vercel only serves static assets.
