Image Enhancer · What this tool does
Enhance low-resolution and compressed images locally with Real-ESRGAN super-resolution. Choose original-size, 2× or 4× output, adjust strength, compare with a slider and inspect at 100% before exporting WebP. Automatic mode prefers local WebGPU and falls back to CPU. Images are never uploaded for processing.
How to use it
- Upload PNG, JPG or WebP, or load the low-resolution example.
- Choose output size, strength and device, then enhance.
- Compare and inspect at 100%, then download WebP.
Practical tips
- Input: 25 MB, 4 megapixels, 4096px per side. Output: 16 megapixels, 8192px per side. Unsupported scales are disabled.
- First use loads about 27 MB. Context-padded tiles bound GPU memory. CPU and larger images take longer; you can cancel.
- Original-size and 2× outputs are reduced from the model’s 4× result. Alpha is retained. Inferred detail is not verified original detail.
Frequently asked questions
Can it restore severe defocus or tiny text?
Super-resolution is better suited to low resolution and compression damage. Information lost to severe defocus may be unrecoverable. AI can alter faces, text and patterns; inspect them at 100%.
Do I need a GPU?
WebGPU uses your own GPU in supported browsers. Automatic mode falls back to CPU if unavailable or execution fails. Computation stays in the browser; Vercel only serves static assets.
